November and December are the busiest months of the year — during Black Friday sales and the Christmas period, Venipak’s shipment volume in the Baltics increases by more than 40%. To ensure fast and seamless deliveries, the company has made substantial upgrades: the parcel locker network has grown by 38%, and the logistics team has expanded by 30%. The company is also prepared to deploy mobile pickup points if parcel lockers or pick-up points reach their maximum capacity.
According to the company’s forecasts, shipment volumes in the Baltics are expected to increase by more than 40% this year, while overall revenue growth is projected at 10–15% compared to the previous year.
“One of the biggest challenges during the holiday season is balancing courier workload and well-being. The peak delivery period coincides with flu season, so supporting courier health and preventing burnout is a key priority. Every courier is extremely important during this time,” emphasizes Sanita Bērziņa, CEO of Venipak Latvia.
Team and parcel locker network expansion
Ahead of the busiest period, Venipak has hired additional staff — both couriers and warehouse employees — to meet demand and prepare essential logistics chain stages for increased workload. The logistics team has expanded by 30%, and the customer service team has also grown to efficiently handle the rising volume of inquiries.
“We have strengthened our parcel locker network by forming a new partnership with the publicly accessible parcel locker network uDrop, giving customers even more convenience, speed, and simplicity in receiving their parcels. As a result of the cooperation, the parcel locker network will have grown by approximately 20% in Lithuania, 38% in Latvia, and nearly 75% in Estonia by the end of the year. The total growth in the Baltics will reach 30%, meaning more than 1000 parcel lockers,” says S. Bērziņa.
As in previous years, the company is ready to react quickly to shifting volumes by deploying mobile pickup points if parcel lockers or pick-up points reach full capacity.
Increasing sorting capacity and expanding warehouse space
To speed up parcel processing, warehouse space in the Baltics has been increased by 10,000 m², and improvements in sorting processes have boosted sorting capacity by 15%. Operational efficiency has improved thanks to additional technological and automation solutions. These upgrades help teams work faster and more efficiently, ensuring consistently high service quality even during peak periods. At the same time, the company has invested in advanced routing tools to improve delivery forecasts, plan routes faster, and reduce the risk of delays.
Sustainable deliveries and a modernized vehicle fleet
The fleet has recently been expanded with 70 upgraded delivery vehicles, helping ensure timely deliveries during the holiday season. The transition to electric vehicles is part of the company’s commitment to making deliveries more sustainable and efficient. Electric delivery vans — especially during the holiday season — are ideal for urban deliveries as they reduce emissions, noise, and operating costs.
“One of our top priorities is balancing delivery speed with sustainability. Venipak continues to invest in solutions that accelerate deliveries while reducing environmental impact — we have optimized routes, modernized our fleet by introducing electric vehicles, and expanded our parcel locker network. Parcel lockers reduce the need for repeated delivery attempts, while improved route planning lowers fuel consumption and CO₂ emissions,” emphasizes S. Bērziņa.
