Starting March 11, the international parcel delivery company Venipak is launching the “Courier Compliments” initiative in the Latvian and Lithuanian markets. The goal is to encourage the public to notice and appreciate the work of couriers more frequently. During the campaign, the company invites Latvian residents to compliment couriers for delivered shipments, thereby promoting a positive attitude toward the profession and strengthening social respect for their work.
Every day, couriers travel hundreds of kilometers and face various challenges to ensure that parcels reach their recipients safely and on time. Often, they become like a part of the family for regular customers—knowing their addresses, pet names, and even the safest spots to leave a package. Despite this, courier work is still frequently undervalued by society.
“For many residents in Latvia, couriers have become an essential part of daily life, yet in the daily rush, their work often goes unnoticed. With this initiative, we want to encourage the public to notice and appreciate their contribution more often. A sincere compliment can sometimes be the strongest source of motivation and emotional well-being,” says Sanita Bērziņa, CEO of Venipak Latvia.
Along with the launch of the initiative, the company is introducing a new standard: from now on, Venipak couriers will introduce themselves by name when delivering parcels. “We want the customer to know who is delivering their parcel—not just ‘someone from Venipak,’ but a specific person like Jānis, Mārtiņš, or Andris. Knowing the courier’s name makes it easier to express gratitude, and the compliment becomes more personal and meaningful,” explains S. Bērziņa.
Nationwide Participation Invited
During the “Courier Compliments” initiative, running from March 11 to April 5, residents receiving a Venipak delivery are invited to visit https://venipak.com/lv/kurjers-ka-savejais/ and leave a compliment. At the conclusion of the initiative, the couriers who receive the most compliments will receive official recognition and rewards from the company. As Venipak’s delivery network covers all of Latvia, the company invites everyone who has used their services to participate.
Over 500 Compliments Previously Received from Business Clients
The company implemented a similar initiative within the business client segment last year. Within one month, Venipak couriers in the Baltic States received more than 500 compliments for their work.
“Last year’s experience shows that people are happy to share positive feedback if a suitable environment is created. Couriers received gratitude from our business clients for punctuality, politeness, and professionalism. This significantly boosted their job satisfaction and their desire to provide the highest quality of service. Therefore, we decided to implement the initiative on a larger scale this year, inviting end-recipients to offer compliments as well,” S. Bērziņa notes.
The company points out that a courier delivers an average of 130 parcels per day, but during peak periods, such as the Christmas season, this can reach 200 deliveries. Furthermore, the total weight of shipments a courier loads and unloads daily averages approximately 800 kilograms. This highlights that the job is not just driving between addresses; it is physically demanding work that requires endurance, precision, and excellent communication skills.
Venipak’s ambition is to turn this initiative into an annual tradition, thereby strengthening the value and recognition of the courier profession throughout the entire e-commerce ecosystem.
