The international parcel delivery company Venipak is steadily advancing its sustainability strategy, focusing on concrete and measurable results.
As Venipak CEO Andrius Ladauskas points out:
“We have already begun introducing electric delivery vehicles, starting with testing them in Latvia.”
Venipak Latvia Country Manager Sanita Bērziņa emphasizes that even relatively small steps can make a meaningful contribution to the company’s sustainability goals:
“Introducing electric delivery vehicles into our fleet is a small, yet significant step on Venipak’s journey toward more sustainable delivery solutions. These initiatives allow us not only to reduce our environmental impact but also to practically test new solutions that could become standard in our daily operations in the future.”
Currently, the first electric delivery vehicles are already on the road, and the company is carefully assessing their performance and suitability for daily operations, with plans to expand these solutions across the Baltic region. Venipak aims for 10% of its fleet to be electric by 2029.
At the same time, the company is optimizing its warehouse and logistics network, relocating operations to more energy-efficient buildings and improving processes. These changes will reduce CO₂ emissions in the last-mile delivery stage by 62 tons per year.
A key example is Venipak’s largest logistics terminal in the Baltics, which opened in Kaunas this spring. The facility meets A++ energy efficiency standards and combines warehouse space, a parcel sorting center, and office functions. The terminal features charging stations for electric delivery vehicles as well as modern staff facilities, including break areas.
Technology also plays a crucial role in achieving Venipak’s sustainability goals. The company is testing and implementing automation and artificial intelligence solutions, with a particular focus on optimizing courier routes, increasing productivity, and reducing transport time.
“Technology has become a driving force in everything we do. We are looking for the most effective solutions that simultaneously boost productivity and reduce delivery time. Innovation touches every part of our company — from smart planning and cost optimization to providing an ever more convenient experience for our customers,” explains Andrius Ladauskas.
