Waiting for several parcels, standing by a parcel locker and unable to find the right access code among dozens of messages? Or perhaps you have received a text about a parcel but are unsure whether it is genuine or another attempt by scammers to steal your data? Soon, these situations could become a thing of the past.
Venipak is launching a new app where users will be able to view all parcels linked to their account and open parcel locker compartments directly from their phones. There will be no need to search for a PIN or QR code. If a suspicious message arrives, users will also be able to verify the parcel in the official app without clicking unfamiliar links.
Addressing the everyday inconveniences of parcel collection
According to a 2026 survey of Lithuanian residents conducted by Hubel on behalf of Venipak, around 93% of respondents had used a parcel locker at least once in the previous three months. Some 31% use parcel lockers at least once every two weeks, compared with 25% in 2024. Over two years, the share of people using parcel lockers regularly has increased by 6 percentage points.
However, collecting a parcel can still involve unnecessary inconvenience. To retrieve a shipment, recipients currently need to find the relevant text message or email on their phone, locate the PIN or QR code and then enter or scan it at the parcel locker. Messages may also be accidentally deleted, the correct code can get lost among other notifications, and in rare cases a text message or email may not reach the recipient due to technical issues.
“When someone is waiting for several parcels and receives dozens of different notifications every day, even something as simple as finding the correct collection code can become an inconvenience. People may accidentally delete the message, struggle to find it or enter the code incorrectly. One of our key objectives when developing the app was therefore to remove the additional steps that users simply do not need,” says Asta Raudonienė, Head of Marketing at Venipak.
Upon arriving at the parcel locker, users will simply need to select the parcel in the Venipak app and tap the button to open the compartment. The correct compartment will open automatically, with no need to use the parcel locker screen, enter a PIN or scan a QR code.
An additional way to protect against scam messages
The app will also help users protect themselves against increasingly common scams in which fraudsters impersonate parcel delivery companies. They may send fake text messages or emails claiming that a delivery has failed and ask the recipient to update their address, pay an additional fee or click a link.
In the new app, users will authenticate themselves using an email address or phone number, while their parcels will be linked to a verified account. This means that anyone receiving a suspicious message will first be able to check whether the relevant Venipak parcel actually appears in their account.
“The app will not, of course, stop scammers from sending fraudulent messages, so people will still need to remain vigilant. However, it will provide another simple way to verify the information they receive. If someone receives a text message about a supposed Venipak parcel, they will be able to see their genuine parcels in the official app,” says Raudonienė.
From tracking parcels to sending them
The new app will also allow users to view all Venipak parcels linked to their account in one place, track their status, redirect a parcel to a parcel locker, register and pay for a new shipment, and find the nearest parcel locker.
“We want users to complete fewer steps when registering, paying for, tracking and collecting a parcel. We therefore see the app as an evolving platform that will gradually offer even more solutions to make both receiving and sending parcels easier,” says Asta Raudonienė.
The app is designed for both parcel recipients and senders and will be available across all three Baltic countries: Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia.
