Long-term statistics of Venipak reveal a clear trend that most recipients are picking up their parcels quickly – usually within the first or second day after delivery.
“In Estonia, the largest customer group, 71%, picks up the parcels the same day and 17% the second day after receiving the SMS notification. Clients doing it three or more days later account for only about 4%. Especially during the Christmas holidays, people are eager to get their shipments as early as possible, which means that quick pickups dominate”, said Martten Kaldvee, Head of Sales of Venipak Estonia.
The sooner the lockers become available, the more parcels can be delivered to the recipients who are eagerly awaiting their shipments. “Customers should carefully read their SMS and collect their parcel from the locker within the designated time frame, which is three calendar days during the festive season. If you’re unavailable, we recommend asking friends or family to assist with collecting your parcel,” advises Kaldvee.
If the parcel is not picked up from the parcel locker within the specified time, it will be returned to the sender, typically the e-shop from which it was ordered.
Kaldvee also stresses the importance of planning holiday shopping early. “If Christmas shopping is left to the last minute, shoppers should pay attention to retailers’ delivery deadlines. Smooth delivery depends not only on the courier company, but also on the planning of purchases and the role of online stores in preparing parcels for delivery to the courier.”
Venipak has been operating on the Estonian market since 2011 and the company operates over 160 parcel lockers in Estonia.
