During 10 months, the business of Venipak in Estonia is 40% higher than in the same period of the last year, according to the sales statistics of the international parcel services company. Seasonal surge of e-commerce activities has started and the trend of not leaving Christmas purchases to the last minute is more visible than previously.
While autumn is usually high season of tire purchases, activity has increased also in other groups of goods – such as furniture, which deliveries have shown growth in recent months.
“As there are many bottlenecks in global trade and the supply of goods may affected, both traders and shoppers increasingly understand the importance of making orders early. It would avoid the last-minute rush in holiday shopping and help reduce further challenges in the logistics,” said Justas Šablinskas, CEO of Venipak.
The e-commerce companies are increasingly conducting sales campaigns, of which Black Friday and Cyber Monday at the end of November are expected to create additional peak moments to the e-shopping traffic. A good example is recent e-Monday that boosted sales of many e-commerce companies.
Market analysts predict further growth in the e-commerce market and continued interest in online shopping, which is why the parcel company expects rapid growth in the retail segment.
